2025 Viognier
35$
100% Viognier | 41.6 cases produced
Destiny Ridge Vineyard | Horse Heaven Hills AVA | Columbia Valley, Washington
This white wine thinks it's a red, and honestly, it has the intensity to pull it off. Sentient sunshine cranked to cinematic volume: honeysuckle whispers become apricot riots, stone fruit turns bold and unapologetic. It possesses a texture so velvety it could probably talk its way out of a parking ticket and convince the officer to buy a case or three. This is Viognier at its most ambitious. It's got opinions, a backbone, and enough swagger to make reds nervous about their job security.
Enjoy with…
While our previous vintages led with intense stone fruit, the 2025 Viognier makes a bold pivot toward the tropics, offering an exotic, lush profile that demands a seat at the table. This is a white wine with the "shoulders" to stand up to the richest of meals; its full-bodied, golden weight makes it a natural companion for the heavy, savory spreads of a Thanksgiving dinner. However, it is equally at home when the heat is turned up. Whether you’re ordering Thai takeout or grabbing a slice of spicy pepperoni pizza, this Viognier’s round mouthfeel and tropical fruit core act as the perfect foil to bold spices and salty, savory fats. Pour it whenever you need a white wine that refuses to be overshadowed.

From Vine to Bottle: The 2025 Vintage
While we typically push for a late harvest, a blistering hot September accelerated the clock, leading us to harvest for optimal phenolic ripeness on September 23rd. To capture the energy of the vintage, the grapes were foot-stomped and left on the skins overnight to extract the structural tannins necessary for our signature bold style.
The cellar provided its own surprise this year: unlike the slow ferments of the past, the 2025 vintage took off with a vigorous native yeast primary fermentation that moved with incredible speed. We did our best to keep temperatures as low as possible to lock in the emerging tropical fruit profile, followed by a partial Malolactic fermentation for creaminess. After six months of aging in neutral oak, the result is a Viognier that is as powerful as the sun that ripened it, yet balanced by the wild, natural energy of the fermentation.
The 2025 season
The 2025 Eastern Washington wine season was defined by a remarkably consistent and mellow growing cycle that avoided the extreme heat spikes of previous years. Following a mild winter, a steady summer allowed for even ripening and excellent acid retention, capped off by an exceptionally warm September that pushed phenolics to peak maturity. Winemakers have lauded the vintage for its spectacular fruit quality, yielding reds with muscular structure and whites with vibrant freshness. Harvest proceeded smoothly under dry, warm conditions from late August through October, resulting in a clean, balanced crop that highlights the natural concentration of the Columbia Valley and its surrounding AVAs.
If you’re a Chardonnay fan, give Viognier a whirl. It’s like Chardonnay’s cool cousin, with all the good vibes and a little something extra.
