Think of it as a philosophical debate where every voice is in perfect, unexpected agreement. It is complex enough to ponder, yet approachable enough to be called “dangerous.” The ultimate pre-dinner diplomat, it sets a vibrant tone while the prep is underway, providing the perfect opening act for the meal to follow. Don’t panic, it’s just wine.

Enjoy With

This 2025 white blend is truly the ultimate “glass in hand” wine—the perfect companion to sip on while you’re prepping dinner. Because it’s so balanced and approachable, it won’t fatigue your palate before the main course arrives, yet it has more than enough personality to stand beautifully on its own. If you’re looking for a quick bite to match while you cook, we always recommend the classic pairing of salty prosciutto and ripe melon; the savory-sweet duo perfectly mirrors the wine’s lush stone fruit and subtle herbal notes.

From Vine to Bottle: The 2025 Vintage

The 2025 Stratus is a harmonious expression of the Rhone trio—Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier—all sourced from the acclaimed Destiny Ridge Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. Because of the intense heat in early September, we harvested these varietals in mid-September to lock in their aromatic complexity. Once in the cellar, the grapes were foot-stomped and the juice was left to rest on the skins overnight, extracting a deeper golden hue and the structural weight needed for a premium white blend. Following primary fermentation, the wine transitioned to neutral oak barrels where it underwent partial malolactic fermentation and micro-oxygenation simultaneously. This dual process allowed the Marsanne’s structure, the Roussanne’s richness, and the Viognier’s floral aromatics to integrate seamlessly, resulting in a finished blend with a luxurious, full-bodied mouthfeel and incredible depth.

The 2025 season

The 2025 Eastern Washington wine season was defined by a remarkably consistent and mellow growing cycle that avoided the extreme heat spikes of previous years. Following a mild winter, a steady summer allowed for even ripening and excellent acid retention, capped off by an exceptionally warm September that pushed phenolics to peak maturity. Winemakers have lauded the vintage for its spectacular fruit quality, yielding reds with muscular structure and whites with vibrant freshness. Harvest proceeded smoothly under dry, warm conditions from late August through October, resulting in a clean, balanced crop that highlights the natural concentration of the Columbia Valley and its surrounding AVAs.
