From Vine to Bottle: The 2025 Vintage

The journey of our 2025 Roussanne from the vine to the bottle is a true story of artisanal craftsmanship and natural adaptation. After a hot September accelerated ripening, we harvested the fruit at its absolute peak in mid-September to capture its vibrant, concentrated melon flavors. Once in the cellar, we took a highly tactile approach, gently foot-stomping the grapes and allowing the juice to rest on the skins overnight to draw out a beautiful, warm color and added structural depth. Following primary fermentation, the wine transitioned to neutral oak barrels for slow micro-oxygenation—a process that rounds out the texture without masking the fruit's natural expression with heavy wood notes. Finally, we guided the wine through partial malolactic fermentation, transforming just enough acidity to build that luxurious, velvety, and full-bodied mouthfeel that makes this single-varietal Roussanne so incredibly captivating.

The 2025 Eastern Washington wine season was defined by a remarkably consistent and mellow growing cycle that avoided the extreme heat spikes of previous years. Following a mild winter, a steady summer allowed for even ripening and excellent acid retention, capped off by an exceptionally warm September that pushed phenolics to peak maturity. Winemakers have lauded the vintage for its spectacular fruit quality, yielding reds with muscular structure and whites with vibrant freshness. Harvest proceeded smoothly under dry, warm conditions from late August through October, resulting in a clean, balanced crop that highlights the natural concentration of the Columbia Valley and its surrounding AVAs.
