From Vine to Bottle: The 2025 Vintage

The story of our 2025 Rosé began with an unexpected rush when the fruit reached peak ripeness much earlier than anticipated, catching us a bit off guard on Labor Day weekend. To capture that fleeting freshness, we moved quickly, bringing the grapes into the cellar for a traditional foot-stomping. The juice was left to rest on the skins for 14 hours, allowing us to extract the perfect, vibrant hue and a delicate structural foundation. Following primary fermentation, the wine was moved into neutral oak barrels where it underwent partial malolactic fermentation alongside slow micro-oxygenation. This simultaneous process allowed the wine to develop a luxurious, silken mouthfeel while maintaining its fruit purity. To provide a crisp, refreshing finish, we topped the wine with a splash of Grenache Blanc; this added a bright acidic backbone that perfectly amplified the intense, mouthwatering notes of fresh strawberry.Washington’s 2024 vintage is shaping up to be one of exceptional quality. Despite a cool start, the growing season delivered beautiful fruit with vibrant flavors. We are seeing tremendous balance in both whites and reds, indicating wines with depth and complexity. This means that when you choose a 2024 Washington wine, you can expect a delicious expression of the varietal, with vibrant fruit, balanced acidity, and a long, satisfying finish.

The 2025 season

The 2025 Eastern Washington wine season was defined by a remarkably consistent and mellow growing cycle that avoided the extreme heat spikes of previous years. Following a mild winter, a steady summer allowed for even ripening and excellent acid retention, capped off by an exceptionally warm September that pushed phenolics to peak maturity. Winemakers have lauded the vintage for its spectacular fruit quality, yielding reds with muscular structure and whites with vibrant freshness. Harvest proceeded smoothly under dry, warm conditions from late August through October, resulting in a clean, balanced crop that highlights the natural concentration of the Columbia Valley and its surrounding AVAs.
